국어교육의 목표, 내용, 방법, 평가 등 국어교육학의 학문적 체계를 이해하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 구체적으로는 총론적 측면에서 국어교육을 바라보는 관점과 철학, 교육과정, 교과서와 평가 등의 문제를 다루며, 각론적인 측면에서 말하기speaking, 듣기listening, 읽기reading, 쓰기writing, 문법grammar, 문학literature의 각 영역별 목표와 교수teaching, 학습learning 내용과 방법, 평가 등에 대해서 이해하고 실제 교수 방법에 적용할 수 있는 능력을 기르게 한다.

The purpose is to comprehend the academic system of Korean language education such as purpose, contents, methods and evaluation etc of Korean language education. Concretely, in the general aspect, it would be covered problems such as perspectives and philosophy toward Korean language education, curriculum, textbooks and evaluation etc, and in the particular aspect, it would be comprehended the purpose of each area such as speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, and literature, and contents and method of teaching and learning and evaluation etc, and developed ability to adapt to actual teaching method.
